Custom packaging for foodservice buyers

From quick-service restaurant takeaway to retail bakery displays, suitable paper packaging starts with the food, operating conditions and brand requirements. Shandong Jinxiang Paper supplies information on grease-resistant food bags, bakery bags, takeaway carrier bags, burger wrapping sheets and tray liners.

Which foodservice formats can you source?

  • Grease-resistant paper snack bags for takeaway food
  • Bakery bags for bread and pastry retail
  • Paper carrier bags for meal orders and foodservice distribution
  • Burger and sandwich wrapping sheets
  • Serving tray and basket liner sheets

Buyer specification checklist

Confirm intended food-contact conditions, paper grade and basis weight, target dimensions, barrier design, printing colors, packing unit, import market and testing requirements. Final materials and production capability must be evaluated against approved samples, not visual concepts.

Quality matters

Food-contact requirements vary by jurisdiction and construction. A material test report for one specific PE-coated sample does not automatically establish conformity of other products.

FOODSERVICE BUYER DECISIONS

How to specify foodservice paper packaging.

Start with the food, not the artwork: heat, oil, moisture, filling method, portion dimensions and contact duration affect whether a bag, wrap or liner is the right starting point.

What a useful food packaging test request looks like

Avoid treating the words greaseproof, biodegradable or food-grade as a complete specification. Confirm the exact paper or coating structure, food type, use temperature, contact duration and destination market. Printed inks and adhesives may matter if they form part of the finished structure. Any food-contact documents should identify the relevant material and conditions—not merely the supplier name.

  • Send a reference package or dimensioned drawing with tolerances, not only an inspirational photograph.
  • Separate handling tests for the carrier from barrier or food-contact tests for inner wraps.
  • Specify artwork, number of colors, proof approval and whether printing may face food.
  • Agree incoming inspection, finished-bag checks, packing units and change control before the production run.

Frequently asked purchasing questions

Does a higher paper gsm guarantee grease resistance?

No. Grammage describes paper mass, while grease resistance depends on the complete structure and the agreed test method.

Can a burger wrap be used for heating?

Not by default. Any microwave, oven or hot-fill use needs explicit construction-specific validation.

Are FSC and ISO certificates equivalent to food-contact approval?

No. Chain-of-Custody and management-system certificates serve different scopes from food-contact test evidence.
